Chief Executive Officer
Julius joined Access Microfinance Bank Tanzania in March 2016 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Prior to joining Access Microfinance Bank Tanzania Ltd, he worked for a similar role (CFO) at NIC Bank in Tanzania. For over eight years, he worked in different roles in finance department including Financial Controller roles for both Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania and NBC Bank. Julius worked as an auditor with PwC for 5 years before joining banking career. He is a qualified Accountant, member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), he holds MBA from the East & Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI), a B.Sc. in Applied Accounting (Oxford Brookes University tgt w/ ACCA) and a B.Sc. in Engineering from University of Dar es Salaam. Mr. Julius speaks English, Swahili and very basic French.
Tunu Lwoga,
Chief Risk Officer
Mrs. Tunu Lwoga is currently the Chief Risk Officer at Access Microfinance Bank Tanzania, her core responsibility is to ensure adequate and effective risk management across various functions at the bank. Mrs. Tunu has 8 years of experience in the banking industry through various managerial and leadership positions. She has held various positions at Letshego Holding and Letshego Banks as Group Risk and Compliance Manager for East and West Africa and Chief Risk Officer. She was engaged in various projects in Botswana and across the Holding (AML Automation Project and MSME Business Implementation), while also performing various training’s that were in collaboration with external Consultants. Mrs. Tunu played major roles in establishing Risk Departments in various African countries while also training their teams. She was part of the Transformation Leadership Team. She holds a Master of Business Administration specializing in Corporate Management, from Mzumbe University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the College of Business Education. She speaks fluent English and Swahili.
Isaya Mwenisongole,
Chief Business Officer
Mr. Isaya Mwenisongole working with the Access Microfinance Bank (Former AccessBank Tanzania Limited) for more than 15 years, began his career with the Bank in 2008 as a Client Advisor, assisting with client onboarding and retention. Mr. Mwenisongole joined the internal audit team as a senior auditor in charge of overseeing the third line of defense modules. He later joined the risk department as a risk manager in charge of controlling the second line of defense, joined the executive team under the chief executive officer in charge of leading and managing various business projects, and occasionally helped with stakeholder communications on corporate strategies. During the Corona Crisis, he joined the business team as the quality manager responsible for implementing and executing inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure that products adhere closely to the bank standards. As the Senior performance Manager Responsibilities included extensive risk analyses, project appraisal and portfolio management while also developing new business and market development opportunities. Mr. Mwenisongole as part of Bank Turnaround Project “Tunarudi Kibo” in which the Bank rejuvenate from Loss making to profit making,. Mr. Mwenisongole holds a Master of Business Administration specializing in Corporate Management from Mzumbe University and Advance diploma in Business Administration from the College of Business Education. He speaks fluent English and Swahili.
